We correct errors promptly and openly.
A correction appears on the article itself, dated, saying what was wrong and what it now says. We do not quietly edit a page and leave it looking as though it was always right.
The three kinds
- A correction fixes a factual error.
- A clarification addresses something accurate but capable of being misread.
- An update adds new developments to a story that was accurate when published.
Telling us
If you think we have got something wrong, tell us. Say which article, which passage, and what you believe the correct position to be. We will respond.
